Cabin Fever 131, 132, 133, 134, 135 from Virtual Quilter

I like the first design for this week’s mini retreat.

Second is very interesting. The blocks in the centre could be changed many ways inside the dark frame.

I am not impressed by the third design … too busy.

Much more interesting.

Love the last for this week.

More Log Cabin quilt designs mid week next week.

If ever I run out of interesting things to do it would be interesting to go through this project file using a mixture of colours, particularly in the centre area of the designs. It would need to be a long break from the ...

Cabin Fever Quilted 61, 62, 63, 64, 65 from Virtual Quilter

I think I would like the backs of these designs as much, if not more, than the front.

Another option would be to make all the blocks in very pale washed out colours, not just the light areas.

I love hand quilting, but the curves in the quilting look like a great design for machine work.

The steps around the deign above are interesting, but I am trying to work out if I like them or not!

Very simple layout for the coloured parts, but I love the quilting design on the light areas.

More Log Cabin designs mid week ...

Cabin Fever 126, 127, 128, 129, 130 from Virtual Quilter

In today’s selection of Log Cabin variations I have used just five variations, and one of them has been used just four times in one design.

The changes are rather subtle, but interesting.

The changes could be used in real quilts when we run out of one of the fabrics, and in the one above have to find a totally different fabric to finish the quilt.

I think the design above is my favourite of today’s section.

I love seeing how small changes of blocks and their placement, and orientation, can change a design.

That is all for ...

Cabin Fever 121, 122, 123, 124, 125 from Virtual Quilter

Very interesting!

I have turned eight blocks around, and not anywhere near as interesting.

Not too sure that I like the design above, but it might appeal to some people.

Like the one above … not too fussy, almost simple, but very appealing.

Five interesting Log Cabin designs this week!

I think my favourite is the first one, but love that they are all not quite the average layout for a Log Cabin quilt.

That is all for this week’s Log Cabin retreat … more designs next week, mid week.

Cabin Fever 116, 117, 118, 119, 120 from Virtual Quilter

Interesting design to start this weeks collection of Log Cabin Quilt designs.

Another interesting design … love the little waves along the diagonal.

The waves are still there, but a very different centre in the one above.

I think the one above is my favourite for today.

Well, I thought the fourth design was my favourite, but I am a woman, and I have changed my mind!

One thing I won’t change my mind about is that I love being able to see all five designs together after seeing each one separately.

Cabin Fever 111, 112, 113,114, 115 from Virtual Quilter

Interesting!

Not quite so interesting.

A slight change … but I prefer the first one of the three very similar designs so far.

Something totoally different to the first three … some space for quilting to shine.

Love the last one, but can see a few things I would like to change!

More Log Cabin designs in the middle of next week.

Cabin Fever Quilting from Virtual Quilter

Interesting!

SAme blocks, different quilting. I like it more than the first one.

Above is a monotone Log Cabin quilt, or the side which most quilters just have to have a look at, no matter how great the front of the quilt looks.

I love the one above …

… and the last design for today.

More Log Cabin designs next week, mid week!

Cabin Fever 106, 107, 108, 109, 110 from Virtual Quilter

I should have visited this project file about a month ago! Let’s hope I don’t need to update it too often!

This project has an almost unlimited supply of Log Cabin blocks which have only one thing in common … they are squares constructed with a a few squares and plenty of strips!

I wonder how many designs are possible with so many block variations? I think I would eliminate those with blocks placed randomly to limit the number to one which would fit written down around a football oval in small numerals.

I like the one above.

However ...
